Editing the SVG Spec
Starting the editing process.
Goal
A clearly written SVG 2.0 specification that
also happens to look good.
See the CSS Font Module
Level 3 specification for an example that appears well
written, has plenty of illustrative (and mostly consistent)
figures, and good examples.
Testing with the Gradient/Patterns section
CSS Styling
- Style sheets:
-
Changed default style sheet to a modified version of the
default style sheet from http://dev.w3.org/csswg/css3-values/.
(Thanks to Tab for pointing me to the css3-values style sheet.)
-
Added alternative style sheet to turn off display of issues
and annotations.
-
SVG 1.1 style sheet available as alternative.
-
For "Examples":
Modified publish.xsl to replaced use of tables by use of div's
with class="example".
-
Changed handling of figures to allow for captions
via using class="figure".
Examples
-
Added new examples.
-
Unified style of examples.
-
Major figures are 600px wide (nominally 600x300), minor figures
are 300px wide (nominally 300x150).
-
Default text size is 20px.
-
For examples with SVG source.
-
Removed dtd.
-
Moved title from <desc> to <title>.
(Could pick better titles!)
Attribute lists
Replaced <br/> by <p>...</p> in <dd>
elements. This makes the text much more legible.
New features
-
Began to add <solidColor>.
-
Added 'fr' to <radialGradient>.
-
Began to add <meshGradient>.
